How did it go in 2023?
We hope you all enjoyed the 2023 weekend which saw some old friends and some new faces. Special mention to the Witchmen and Terry and Linda. We first met the Witchmen back in the 80's at Warwick Folk Festival when Warwick Castle still allowed the festival dancers to perform in the grounds! Over the years our paths crossed many times and the magic of the "pagan" Morris became a benchmark to mearsure other "black face" teams by. Linda's wall of sound percussion driven music has been picked up by other sides. At one point asked what his hobbies were Terry answered "Avouding a third heart attack". In Ossett Terry was still there calling the dances and Linda driving the music. Long may they continue.
Good to see Wakefield still keeping the style of light and fluid NW alive. Steve Ollerton keeps the team on it's toes and given the youth of the dancers it may verge on herding cats as a hobby, but its worth it Steve -honest. One things for sure it's a real family side featuring not just sons and daughters but at least one grand daughter!
